Help Channel Burundi recognizes that sustainable development begins with investing in children and young people. We work with families, communities, schools, and local authorities to ensure that children grow up in safe, healthy, and supportive environments where they can learn, develop, and realize their full potential. Our interventions focus on early childhood development, access to quality education, protection of vulnerable children, and skills development for youth, helping to break cycles of poverty and build resilient communities.
To achieve this, we:
- Promote Early Childhood Development (ECD) by providing integrated services for children under five and their caregivers, including early stimulation, nutrition, health, protection, and psychosocial support. We also strengthen the capacity of parents and community members to provide quality care and promote positive early learning experiences.
- Improve access to quality and inclusive education by supporting vulnerable children and youth with school kits and other essential learning materials. We work with schools and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) to improve learning environments through infrastructure development and the provision of educational materials and equipment.
- Support education in humanitarian and emergency contexts by ensuring that children affected by displacement, natural disasters, or conflict continue to access safe, inclusive, and quality learning opportunities. We build schools, provide essential emergency education supplies, and advocate for the protection and inclusion of displaced and refugee children within formal education systems.
- Strengthen youth skills development and employability through vocational training and entrepreneurship education. These initiatives equip young people with the competencies needed to access employment, create sustainable livelihoods, and contribute positively to their communities.
